Taylor Gold Label 712e Rosewood
The Taylor Gold Label 712e is a particularly refined acoustic guitar within Taylor's new, heritage-inspired Gold Label series. This model combines a compact Grand Concert body with a surprisingly full and complex sound, bringing together modern innovations and a distinct vintage character.
The foundation is a solid rosewood (Indian rosewood) body, coupled with a torrefied Sitka spruce top. This combination delivers a rich, layered sound with deep basses, sparkling highs, and a wide dynamic range. Thanks to the torrefaction, the guitar also feels "played-in" immediately, with a warm, open sound that normally only develops after years.
What makes this 712e extra special is the deeper Grand Concert body. This provides more low-end and projection than you would expect from this size, without sacrificing comfort. In combination with the fanned V-Class bracing, an impressive balance, extra sustain, and a powerful, responsive tone across the entire spectrum are created.
The guitar feels immediately familiar thanks to the Action Control Neck. This innovative neck construction not only ensures a smooth playing feel but also makes it possible to adjust the action easily and precisely. Ideal for players who like to perfectly fine-tune their setup.
In terms of sound character, this 712e sits exactly between modern and classic. Fingerstyle players will appreciate the clarity and articulation, while strummers will benefit from the full low-end and rich overtones that "blossom" beautifully in chords.
Visually, this guitar also exudes pure class. The subtle cream binding, classic rosette, and Crest inlays give the whole an elegant, vintage look, without being overdone. Everything feels thoughtful, understated, and premium.
