EarthQuaker Devices enters into a unique partnership with KGR Harmony and Oitomi Ironworks

EarthQuaker Devices proudly presents a special international collaboration with KGR Harmony and the renowned Oitomi Ironworks . Together, they developed a limited edition of the Plumes overdrive pedals with cast iron housings!

KGR Harmony , founded by Keijiro (KG) Fukushima in Iwate, Japan, is known for its high-quality, hand-built guitar pedals. Keijiro's fascination with the influence of housing materials on tone led him to Oitomi Ironworks . This traditional family business has been handcrafting iron teapots and kettles ( Tetsubin ) for centuries, using the renowned Nanbu-tekki techniques that are over 900 years old.

This shared passion for craftsmanship and innovation led to a collaboration with EarthQuaker Devices . Together, they developed unique cast iron housings for the Plumes overdrive pedal . These special pedals were first presented during EarthQuaker Day 2024 and sold out immediately, sparking enthusiasm among guitarists and collectors worldwide.

Shortly afterward, Jamie Stillman and Julie Robbins of EarthQuaker Devices traveled to Japan to witness the casting process in person. Julie Robbins described the visit: "It was a truly special experience to see the craftsmanship in the Oitomi forge up close."

This collaboration marks a rare meeting of modern guitar culture and ancient Japanese craftsmanship, resulting in an exclusive, sonically and visually unique overdrive pedal that bridges the boundaries of tradition and innovation.
