Gold hardware, Rex Brown signature on back of headstock, neck-through construction

The Epiphone Rex Brown Thunderbird Bass brings together Pantera’s bassist’s neck-through construction and gold hardware in one instrument

Rex Brown is one of the most influential bassists in metal history. With Pantera and Down, he set the standard for what a bass part can mean in a heavy band: technical, present, and always serving the whole. The first Epiphone signature instrument to bear his name is a Thunderbird, the bass that has been preferred by the most distinctive bassists in rock for decades. Epiphone built it exactly as Brown wanted it.

The neck-through construction with a 9-ply mahogany/walnut neck gives the Rex Brown Thunderbird a directness and sustain that a set-neck bass cannot match. The two ProBucker 760 Bass humbuckers with nickel-plated covers deliver a powerful, clear sound that matches the bass's role in Brown's musical context: present, full, and with enough definition to cut through a heavy mix. The Babicz FCH 3-Point bridge was chosen for its stability and intonation accuracy.

Mahogany body wings, 9-ply mahogany/walnut neck-through neck with C-profile, Indian Laurel fretboard with Dot inlays and 20 frets on a 34" scale, gold die-cast tuners with mini clover buttons, and full gold hardware. Rex Brown's signature is on the back of the headstock, the Rex Brown logo is engraved on the rear control cover. Includes hardshell case.

The Rex Brown Thunderbird is for the bassist who understands that playing big starts with the right instrument.
