The LG-2 All Mahogany: when everything is mahogany, only the tone speaks
The Gibson LG-2 All Mahogany is the most direct and honest version of the classic small-body LG-2. While the standard version uses Sitka Spruce for the top, this variant opts for an all-mahogany construction: top, back, and sides all made of the same wood. The result is a guitar with a warm, mid-focused tone that is direct and full of character. No sparkling clarity, no pronounced lows, but a focus and directness that is particularly well suited for fingerpicking, blues, and intimate singer-songwriter work. The Faded Vintage Sunburst finish accentuates the wood grain of the mahogany in a way that a glossy finish never could.
The mahogany neck has a Rounded profile with a rosewood fretboard, MOP dot-inlays, and 20 frets over a 24.75-inch scale length. The compound dovetail neck joint with hot hide glue maximizes resonance transfer. Grover open-back tuners and the classic LG-2 bridge complete an instrument that derives its strength from simplicity and consistency of material use. Comes with a hardshell case.
