Collaboration with Gibson Custom, rounded cutaways (1962-specific), small block inlays, Switchcraft components

The Epiphone 1962 ES-335 Reissue Sixties Cherry that reproduces the model year Gibson Custom itself has never reissued: rounded cutaways, small block inlays, and SlimTaper C-neck

Introduced in 1958, the ES-335 underwent minor but significant evolutions in the years that followed. The 1962 model year is special for connoisseurs: the cutaways got their more rounded shape, the small block inlays replaced the earlier dots, and the neck refined its profile to the SlimTaper C so characteristic of early-60s Gibson instruments. These are details that distinguish the 1962 ES-335 from earlier and later versions, and which Epiphone has accurately reproduced in collaboration with Gibson Custom.

The Gibson USA Custombuckers, hand-wired with CTS potentiometers and Black Beauty paper-in-oil capacitors, deliver the full, dynamic ES-335 tone that belongs in any genre: warm enough for jazz, present enough for rock, articulate enough for blues. The ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge with historic aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece is the period-correct hardware choice for this model year. The five-ply maple/poplar semi-hollow body with solid maple centerblock gives the typical ES-335 balance: the resonance of a hollowbody with the feedback resistance of a solidbody.

Semi-hollow 5-ply maple/poplar body with solid maple centerblock in Sixties Cherry, mahogany neck with SlimTaper C-profile, rosewood fretboard with MOP small block inlays and 22 frets on 24.75" scale, Epiphone Deluxe Double Ring tuners, ABR-1 bridge and aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece. Includes vintage-style hardshell case with Goldenrod interior.

The 1962 ES-335 Reissue Sixties Cherry is for the guitarist who wants the specific model year, not just the model.
