Gibson Les Paul Custom SG Polaris White 1988

An 1988 Gibson Les Paul Custom SG is not a guitar you just stumble upon. This particular model, finished in the iconic Polaris White, has developed a beautiful aged finish over the years, with the original white lacquer taking on a warm, creamy hue. That's not wear and tear, that's character. The body is equipped with three EMG 60 humbuckers, a pickup known for its high output, rich harmonic overtones, and full treble response, which is particularly suitable for pronounced single-note solos and expressive lead playing.

The mahogany body and neck deliver the classic, full Les Paul sound: warm lows, present mids, and defined highs. The ebony fretboard with large Abalone block inlays gives the guitar its characteristic Custom look, and feels excellent in the hand thanks to the 12" radius and 24.75" scale length. There are no neck breaks or heel breaks, and no refinishing has been done on the body.

This instrument is in good condition for a guitar almost forty years old. The Polaris White finish has aged beautifully with a slight yellowing over the years, which is typical and greatly contributes to its vintage appeal. The pickguard is not original, but it is an original Gibson pickguard. The EMG 60 pickups are an upgrade from the original setup. The original tan/brown hardshell case is included. Before shipping or pickup, the instrument will be inspected and, if necessary, played in by our technician.
