One of the most beautiful maple tops ever, and then that Bay Bridge inlay... PRS does it again!
If someone asks: what is a good example of a real Private Stock guitar, then feel free to show us the photos of this PRS Private Stock Custom 24 Chesapeake Bay PS#9303. This beauty is finished in a beautiful Frostbite Glow Smoked Burst finish and exudes class. First of all, of course, that amazing maple top that really pops. This also forms a good match with the Gold/Nickel hardware. And what's also cool is that this Custom 24 is equipped with the beloved 58/15LT pickups that have a more vintage-inspired voicing. But the real eye-catcher is of course the inlay work. The inlay of this instrument - designed by Private Stock director Paul Miles - is incredibly beautiful and superlatives fall short. We see the iconic Chesapeake Bay bridge that connects the PRS plant in Stevensville to the mainland, and is crafted from an artistic combination of curly maple, ebony, and quilted maple, then finished with a stain process that requires enormous precision and craftsmanship. The way in which the used maple and ebony then come back on both the headstock of the guitar and the top makes it complete. Add to this the East Indian rosewood neck and African Ribbon mahogany and you have one of the most beautiful Private Stock guitars ever built.
