When you say PRS, you say Santana! The intensive collaboration between the creative and innovative minds of Santana and Paul Reed Smith has done a lot for the brand. Santana was of course one of the first big names to embrace the hitherto unknown brand, resulting in this great PRS Santana Retro signature guitar. Over the years, both Carlos and Paul Reed Smith have gained new insights, but some things you don't need to change. Under the guise of "Never Change A Winning Team", the Santana Retro is a tribute to the former so-called Pre-Factory guitars that Paul Reed Smith personally built for Santana. Several unique design elements have been re-implemented, such as the deeper carve in the body and the old school (and unique!) headstock. Yet not everything is the same, because for 2020 PRS introduces a number of upgrades such as the nitro over cellulose (CAB) finish. The Santana Retro thus combines the rich PRS history with the modern innovation of the 21st century.
