The signature guitar that brings to life the tone and story of Joe Bonamassa's favorite pre-war Martin
The Martin 00-18 Bonamassa is not your average signature guitar. Martin built this instrument in close collaboration with Joe Bonamassa as faithful a reconstruction as possible of his beloved 1937 00-18, the guitar that fundamentally shaped his tone and playing style. The glossy 1937 Joe Bonamassa Sunburst finish replicates the visual aging of Joe's original instrument in detail, including the warmth and patina that only decades of intensive use can provide.
The sound of this 00-18 is immediately recognizable to anyone familiar with Joe's work: a rich, layered tone with warm lows, an expressive midrange, and bright highs that respond particularly well to dynamic fingerstyle playing and blues phrasing. The solid spruce top with GE scalloped X-bracing and solid genuine mahogany back and sides provide an organic resonance and sustain that is only possible with all-solid construction. The 00-body with a 24.9" scale length offers an intimate playing experience that encourages nuance and expression.
The ebony fretboard with GE Modified Low Oval neck and Old Style 18 inlays directly reference the pre-war aesthetic, while nickel open-gear tuners and an ebony bridge with bone saddle complete the vintage authenticity. This instrument comes without electronics, purely acoustic, and is supplied with a hardshell case.
For the player who looks beyond a signature guitar and is seeking an instrument with historical depth, exceptional build, and a tone that directly inspires.
