This Butterscotch Telecaster brings classic Fender twang to the baritone register
A familiar silhouette with an unexpectedly deep voice: the Fender 75th Anniversary Player II Baritone Telecaster Butterscotch Blonde combines the Telecaster tradition with a greater tonal range. This model from the Limited Edition 75th Anniversary Telecaster Collection features an ash body and a maple fretboard with a 27-inch scale length. Designed for B-to-B tuning, it offers a quarter more depth than a standard guitar. The Butterscotch Blonde finish and black pickguard evoke the classic Telecaster look, but beneath your fingers lies a completely different register. An interesting addition for guitarists who want to give their arrangements more space and weight.
The Player Series Alnico V Tele single-coils retain the pronounced definition you expect from this model. The bridge pickup delivers immediate attack and characteristic twang, while the neck pickup provides a rounder tone for melodies and spacious chords. In the middle position, both colors blend together. The longer scale length supports the string tension in the low tuning, so that riffs remain tight and individual notes in chords are clearly recognizable. This makes this baritone right at home with rootsy basslines, cinematic parts, and heavy alternative rock. The combination of low fundamentals and bright single-coil response also makes it attractive for layered studio parts.
The maple neck has a Modern C profile and a satin urethane finish. Rounded fretboard edges, a 9.5-inch radius, and 22 medium jumbo frets ensure an accessible playing experience, even during longer sessions. The synthetic bone nut measures 42.8 mm. The polyester finish protects the ash body, while the string-through-body Tele bridge with six steel block saddles allows for individual intonation per string. Fender ClassicGear tuning machines, master volume, master tone, and a three-way selector keep the hardware and controls easy to use. This Mexico-made model comes with nickel-plated steel strings in gauges .013 to .062.
