The Dingwall Custom Afterburner I is a bass guitar for the bassist who leaves nothing to chance. Built in Canada with the patented Novax fanned-fret system and a multi-scale length of 34" to 36.25", each string gets exactly the tension and intonation it deserves. The result is an instrument with exceptionally tight lows, crystal-clear high strings, and a dynamic range that conventional basses rarely match.

The sound is entirely passively driven by an FDV Alnico pickup, a transducer known for its warmth, definition, and organic character. Thanks to the passive toggle switches, you have direct control over your tone without a battery standing between you and your instrument. The result is an honest, responsive sound that reacts to every nuance in your attack, from soft fingerstyle passages to aggressive slap lines.

The alder body combines light weight (3.6 kg) with a full, balanced resonance. The 5-piece maple neck with wenge fretboard and 3mm treble-side dots provides a stable base for the 24 banjo frets. The 7.25" radius and Afterburner neck profile offer a familiar playing experience, while the Hipshot/Dingwall tuners ensure accurate and stable tuning. Supplied with soft case.
