The return of a legend: The reissue of the 1958 Korina Flying V!
The 1958 NAMM was a very special one for Gibson. No less than two iconic solid-body guitars were introduced: The Explorer and Flying V. What made these guitars even more special is that only 19 Explorers and 81 Flying Vs were built that year. This Flying V is really a wonderful reissue of the '58 copies. Thanks to special scanning technology, the Gibson Custom Shop has been able to scan several original '58 V's and reproduce them to perfection. Just like the guitars back then, this V is made of African Korina wood. This creates a very own characteristic tone that symbolizes the Flying V. The guitar comes with the special Custombucker pickups, Indian rosewood fretboard and a Korina neck and body. To make all this very chic, there is completely gold hardware, just like on the original. The aging is really beautifully done and really gives you the feeling that you are playing an authentic vintage instrument. Such a guitar naturally also includes a historically accurate case with classic brown exterior and plush pink interior. What a beauty!
