Firebird pickups have been a favorite with connoisseurs since the model's initial introduction in 1963. When humbucking, they should not be confused with other outwardly similar mini-humbucker models. Internally, Firebird pickups utilize two bar magnets around which the coils are wound. This gives them a distinctive tone that is somewhat similar in sound to single coils; clear and clean in the highs with the full, tight lows you expect from a humbucker. The Firebird Reissue is wound to vintage '60s specifications, waxed to eliminate microphone feedback, and is offered here for the first time as an aftermarket product.
