Created in conjunction with the Gibson Custom Shop, this Inspired by Gibson model is Epiphone's impressive recreation of one of the most important and popular guitar designs of all time. The Epiphone 1961 Les Paul SG Standard pays homage to the legendary original - the very first SG. In 1961, the original shape of the Les Paul model was discontinued and replaced with an all-new design known today as the SG or "solid guitar." Featuring a two piece solid mahogany with Custom Shop Historic bevels, this SG also features a one piece mahogany SlimTaper C-shaped neck profile from those legendary early Les Paul SG models. The pickguard is also completely historically correct. The guitar is equipped with a pair of Gibson BurstBucker humbuckers connected to CTS potentiometers and Mallor capacitors. The Epiphone Deluxe tuners have a historically inspired double ring design. Such a great tribute naturally also includes a very beautiful case with a vintage look.
