The Gibson Black Beauty Reissue that combines craftsmanship and iconic appearance in one instrument
The Gibson '57 Les Paul Custom, better known as the Black Beauty, is one of the most elegant and recognizable guitars ever built. The combination of black nitrocellulose lacquer, ebony fretboard, mother-of-pearl inlays, and gold hardware possesses a timelessness that no other guitar model can match. The Custom Shop 1957 Les Paul Custom Reissue in Ebony reproduces every detail of the original with the accuracy and craftsmanship for which the Gibson Custom Shop is renowned worldwide.
Two Custombucker Alnico III pickups deliver the authentic 1957 PAF sound: warm, open, and dynamic, with a rich midrange that is perfect for blues, jazz, and rock. Unpotted and tuned to original specifications, they respond with nuance and transparency. The VOS nitrocellulose finish gives the guitar a subtle vintage patina, while the gold hardware completes the elegance of the Black Beauty.
The one-piece solid mahogany body and mahogany neck with Chunky C-profile give the guitar its substantial, resonant character. The solid ebony fretboard with 1950s Mother of Pearl inlays and 22 frets on a 24.75" scale is both visually and tactilely exceptional. No-Wire ABR-1 bridge with lightweight aluminum stop bar, Kluson Waffleback tuners with pearloid tips, and paper-in-oil capacitors complete an instrument that is historically correct in every respect. Includes Brown/Pink Lifton Reissue 5-latch case and Certificate of Authenticity.
Black, gold, ebony. The Black Beauty as it was intended in 1957, executed with Custom Shop precision.
