The Mark IIC+ embodies everything that makes Vintage Boogie® legendary. Its design can be traced directly back to the original Mark II (later Mark II-A): the world’s first guitar amplifier with a true Dual Mode layout, where clean and overdrive each had their own distinct character and dynamics. The IIC+ is the third and most mature evolution of this concept, combining nearly five years of refinement, feedback, and musical insights. It is also the final model in this generation; its successor would gain an additional mode and bear the name Mark III.

Like every classic Mark amplifier, the IIC+ operates with a single bank of controls that govern both modes. Rhythm and Lead share the fundamentals, but each has its own gain and volume controls that interact to define the gain structure. The tone control forms the foundation, while the familiar Pull Shift functions—partly mode-specific—add additional voicing options. For finer tuning, the iconic 5-band graphic EQ allows you to sculpt the sound with surprising precision. The frequency bands are wide, yet responsive, musical, and highly effective.

The rear panel also underscores why the Mark IIC+ remains relevant decades later. The global Presence and Reverb controls are logically positioned for quick adjustments on stage. The daisy-chained, buffered effects loop integrates effortlessly with delays and reverbs. The Power Select switch lets you choose between a full 75 watts of Simul-Class™ power—open, powerful, and with maximum headroom—or Class A, which strips back the power and bass for a smoother, more clipping output stage at lower volumes. With one 8-ohm and two 4-ohm speaker outputs, virtually any cabinet combination is possible. The Slave output taps the complete signal, including the output stage, and is perfect for IR loaders, external processors, or classic wet/dry/wet setups.

Forty years after its original introduction, the Mark IIC+ returns as what it always was: a benchmark. This amplifier formed the foundation for countless iconic guitarists and timeless recordings from one of the most influential periods in rock history. Re-creating this amplifier with modern components and within modern regulations was a challenge, but the result is one to be proud of. This edition is entirely dedicated to the original C+.
