McCarty 594 Fire Red: the vintage ideal in a finish that leaves no one untouched
There are few finishes that work as well on a figured maple top as Fire Red. The color has depth, character, and a certain urgency that immediately communicates what this guitar stands for: for feel, for tone, for class. The PRS McCarty 594 is inspired by vintage LP guitars from the 1950s, but Paul Reed Smith has thoroughly developed that formula. The result is an instrument that combines the nostalgia of then with the reliability of now.
The two TCI-tuned 58/15 LT humbuckers are built for warmth and nuance. Their lower output gives the guitar an open, dynamic character that invites playing with dynamics and attack. Engage the push/pull tone knob and switch from humbucker to single coil: both pickups are individually switchable, and thanks to the TCI treatment, the split-coil positions sound particularly convincing. Clear, hum-free, and full of life. From clean blues to driving rock: the 594 does it all.
The asymmetrical Pattern Vintage neck profile is thicker on the bass side than on the treble side, which ensures a relaxed grip along the entire length of the neck. The 24.594" scale length gives the strings just that extra edge of tension that makes the 58/15 LT pickups function so well. Rosewood fretboard, 22 frets, 10" radius, Bird Inlays. The PRS 2-Piece Cast Zinc stoptail bridge sounds richer and fuller than a conventional T.O.M. bridge, and PRS Vintage Style tuners complete the traditional look.
The PRS McCarty 594 Fire Red comes with a hardcase. For those who want the essence of Paul Reed Smith, in a color that perfectly embodies that essence.
