An elegant, tweed-inspired 1x12 combo from Mesa Boogie!
B-Stock! The box for this amplifier is missing.
In the late 1960s, Randall Smith built his very first boutique amplifier as an homage to the tweed circuits of the 1950s. The Mesa/Boogie California Tweed 2:20 harks back to that original Boogie design with the same hyper-dynamic sound, engineered around 6V6 tubes. Like the original, this single-channel combo sits precisely at the intersection between clean and distorted, resulting in a tremendously expressive amplifier.
The California Tweed may only have one channel, but that doesn't make it any less flexible. First, you have a normal and low input, for example, to control the output of guitars with humbuckers. The EQ section is incredibly powerful, and the presence knob allows you to adjust the highs and lows to your liking; especially useful for distorted sounds. You can also reduce the amplifier's wattage from 20 watts to 10 watts or 1 watt, allowing you to enjoy the distortion at lower volumes. Finally, you have access to an analog spring reverb and a tube-driven effects loop.
