The Fender '68 Custom Vibro Champ Reverb: 5 watts of tube magic for home, studio and small venues
The original Vibro Champ was already a legend in 1968: small, light and capable of producing a tone at low volumes that put large combos to shame. Fender brings that heritage back with the '68 Custom Vibro Champ Reverb — now complemented by a hall reverb circuit and a larger 10" Celestion TEN 30 speaker for more low-end body. The result is an amplifier that combines the intimacy of the original Champ with the versatility modern guitarists demand.
At just 5 watts via a single 6V6 power tube, the Vibro Champ already sounds beautiful at room volume. The tubes compress faster than a larger combo, providing a rich, harmonically loaded tone that responds invitingly to your playing dynamics. The built-in tremolo (Speed and Intensity) and the added hall reverb give you plenty of tonal possibilities without external pedals. The controls are minimalist and direct: Volume, Treble, Bass, Reverb, Speed and Intensity.
Under the hood: 2x 12AX7 preamp tubes and 1x 6V6 power tube, two inputs (Input 2 with -6dB pad) and a 1/4" speaker connection. Weight: 9.25 kg — light enough to carry under your arm. Supplied with cover. For the guitarist who knows that great tones don't always require great amps.
