The signature guitar that captures John Scofield's jazz sound down to the millimeter
The Ibanez JSM100 is no ordinary hollowbody — it is the result of years of collaboration between Ibanez and jazz legend John Scofield. Every choice in wood, hardware, and electronics has been made with one goal: to capture the warm, articulate tone that has defined Scofield throughout his career. In Vintage Sunburst, this instrument also makes a visual statement.
The figured anigre body gives the JSM100 an open, resonant tone with a strikingly clear midrange. The two Super 58 pickups were specially developed for this model and deliver a rich, layered jazz tone that responds excellently to both clean and lightly overdriven playing. The compound radius of 184mm to 250mm makes the neck comfortable for chord playing in the lower positions and smooth for soloing higher up the neck.
The neck is constructed from African mahogany with a bound ebony fretboard, featuring acrylic and abalone block inlays. The Gotoh 510BN bridge and gold hardware complete the picture of an instrument thoughtfully designed down to every detail. The electronics consist of two volume and two tone controls with a three-way switch, providing full control over the blend between neck and bridge pickups. Supplied with a hardshell case.
For the guitarist looking for an instrument with character, depth, and a direct link to the great jazz tradition, the JSM100 is a choice you won't soon forget.
