Classic 1930s tone meets modern drive and style.
The Taylor Gold Label 717e Blacktop is a premium Grand Pacific-body guitar for players who crave deep, round, and rich tone combined with Taylor's modern playability and technology. Finished in a stylish Blacktop finish, this instrument exudes both visual power and musical finesse.
This 717th has a Deep Grand Pacific body shape - based on Taylor's famous slope-shoulder Grand Pacific shape, but with added body depth for even greater bass response, resonance, and projection. The solid torrefied Sitka spruce top delivers an open, warm, and played-in tone with rich dynamics from day one. The solid Indian rosewood back and sides contribute to full bass, sparkling highs, and a complex tonal palette with deep overtones.
Taylor's innovative fanned V-Class bracing delivers enhanced sustain, optimal intonation, and balanced tone across the entire frequency range. The Blacktop feels powerful and responsive, with enough low-end punch and midrange character to support both subtle fingerstyle playing and aggressive strumming.
The Action Control Neck makes it easy to adjust the string height for a personalized and comfortable playing feel, without the need for major neck adjustments later. This makes the 717e Blacktop an instrument that's ready to play—day in, day out.
The 717e Blacktop features the LR Baggs Element VTC pickup system, which delivers warm, natural, and detailed amplified tone — ideal for stage and studio recording.
The guitar comes with a deluxe hardshell case for optimal protection.
